More Summertime Fun!

A teacher friend of mine told me that our summers are like an extended weekend - June is Friday, July is Saturday and August is Sunday, the day we begin to think about the upcoming school year and start getting ready for the first day. Sadly, it's Sunday of our summer vacation. But, we are still trying to do as much as possible and have as much fun before the summer is officially over.

Here are some more pics of our summer fun!
Walkdates:

Erin, Logan, Tristan and I on our weekly walkdates on Springwater Trail.

Walking babes

Love the shirt - "The Original Hybrid" :) *10 weeks*

Weekly softball games:

Cheering on Dad and his team at our weekly softball events.
*11 weeks*

Tristan & friend Leah Zervis - her 1st birthday was the first birthday party he attended, at just two weeks old!

Friend BBQs:

It must have been a stripe themed BBQ - most of the guys seemed to be sporting them that night! (Cameron, Nick Zervis and Aubrey)

Ali with Tristan *almost 12 weeks*

I think after this night, Cameron was definitely getting the itch for a son soon! Right, Ali??

Even Sam had to get in his baby fix. Love how Aubrey is wondering how long it will be before she can sample some of "mommy & daddy's juice" :)

Short & Sweet

Today my mom and Doug stopped in for a short and sweet visit on their way back home from the beach. Since we were also getting ready for our Maiden Voyage on The Pickle, we did a quick stop by Trav & Bridg's house so they could get their "Tristan fix". We got some adorable pics from our quick visit with them!

Here are some other pics from our visit we had with Bridg's parents when they were in town. It was a great photo opp with Aunt Bridg, Lincoln and Tristan!

The Pickle!

The Pickle has been a notorious boating figure within our friend group for a few years now. It all started when the Netzels bought this beauty from his stepdad a few years ago. Sadly, the only times we ever went on it was up at their cabin. Since it didn't get a lot of water time and mainly sat (as an eyesore to Lo) in the front of their house for a few years, it was time to sell it to someone who was desperate for a boat. And who could be desperate enough for a 1972, pea-green cruiser?? Well, Trac, Dave, Brian & I of course! Yes, the members of Team Danger are now the official co-owners of The Pickle - yikes!! We also got a pretty good deal - let's just say that our part was less than what Tristan's stroller cost (to be fair, Brian did call his stroller his first and only vehicle he will have until he pays for the next one himself :)

Today was our Maiden Voyage with The Pickle. And yes, Team Danger lived up to their name! We first started off the cruise with the Land Rover stuck in the water at the loading dock. Apparently, the trailer was stuck under the edge of the dock and wouldn't budge. By the time us girls got there 45 minutes later to meet them, Brian and Dave were still trying to "unstuck" it. In the end, Brian and Dave had to lift the trailer while I drove it out of the water. Wow - #1 close call!

#2 close call - While waiting for the Land Rover & trailer to make it out of the water, The Pickle was tied up to the dock. Well, someone forgot to attach the buoys to the dock side which completely scratched it up! Sad that it's been around for almost 40 years and it gets it's first scratches on Team Danger's Maiden Voyage! Would you expect anything less??

#3 close call - After we finally started on our first voyage, everything seemed to be going well until we made it downtown. That's when The Pickle decided it would be the perfect time to die in the middle of the river. As "three hour tour..." played in my head, I began calculating how many bottles I had for Tristan just in case we were stranded for awhile. Luckily I figured out that we had approximately four hours before I went into full on panic mode. While we were trying to figure out what we were going to do, a very nice sailboat offered to tow us to the nearest dock. As they were throwing us their rope, The Pickle finally started up again. Needless to say, that was enough excitement for the day and we decided to cruise back to the loading dock before we noticed a hole in the boat, too.

Our (almost) rescue sailboat

All in all, yes, we did have a good time. Here are the pics to prove it:

Welcome baby Amelia Netzel!!

Amelia Naomi Netzel was welcomed into the world on July 24, 2010! She definitely wanted to come as quickly as possible as Laura was only in labor for just over 3 hours!!! Lo was induced early in the morning at 2am and Amelia was born at 8:30am. Lucky mama!!! Of course we had to have another Hospital Happy Hour to welcome the new little Netzel into our "friend family".

Mama Laura and baby Amelia (who, by the way, is a spitting image of Daddy Travis!!)

Lo, Lynds, Trac, me & Ali welcoming Amelia to her first Happy Hour!

Three men and two babies. Wonder when it will be three men and three babies? Hmmm, Dave?

Tristan checking out his new little friend.

Since not everyone could make it, we also had a House Happy Hour the following Thursday for more celebrating!

Summertime

Wondering what a new mom and baby do with their maternity/summer break? Well, here's a snapshot of our summer adventures together so far:

Tristan's First Happy Hour:

Such a ladies man! *almost 8 weeks*

Dave showing what a natural he is :)

I love these pics! He's totally rockin' the Burt Reynolds look!

Family BBQs:

Grandpa & his boys

Lincoln loves entertaining his little cousin :)

Lincoln showing Tristan his favorite page.

Trying out Aunt T's sunglasses.

This is how you can often find him - on Dad's iPhone! Like father, like son!

Dad's Softball Games:

Brian just joined a summer softball league. Tristan has become somewhat of a mascot :)

Working on his cheers.

*9 weeks*

Pool Parties:
We've been taking advantage of the beautiful weather lately by having our own little pool parties at our friend's place. I'm not too sure who enjoys it more - mama or baby. Although I'm pretty sure since it's one of mama's favorite past times, she may be getting more of a kick out of it. Oh, and notice Little T's outfit - the swim shorts are not quite functional yet, but once again, mom has such a fun time dressing up for the occasion!!

*9 1/2 weeks*

Apparently he didn't want his picture taken :)

And yes, even a Brew Fest!
The Oregon Brew Fest was down on the waterfront this past weekend and since mom and dad are trying to give Little T as many exciting experiences as possible, they of course knew this was a must!

Trying to take a peek at all the action.

Hanging with the ladies once again! I also think we're going through a "mouth" phase these days! *9 1/2 weeks*

We're loving our summer break together!!
