Shopping

Here is a cute video of T while we were shopping at New Seasons the other day. Love the small shopping carts they have for the little ones, although I have a feeling they are going to make our shopping experiences a little longer :)

Swifts

We had been hearing about this really great, nightly event that happens for only a few weeks in the summer. So, after realizing there were only a few nights left until it wouldn't happen again until next summer, we decided we needed to go check it out. It is definitely a Portland-type event - we loved it!! Basically, there are birds (called swifts) who nest in an old, large chimney apart of an elementary school. Each night when they come back to this unused chimney, they circle around it for over an hour until they all fit inside. While circling, there are larger predator birds who try to attack them. I'm not sure if it's for food or for fun, but either way it's pretty entertaining! There are literally hundreds of people spread out on blankets with picnic baskets, wine, binoculars, etc. who are cheering on the swifts. It's crazy what an event this has become! And like I said before, it's SO Portland.

Not only are there picnicing families galore, there are also kids who sled down a nearby hill on cardboard boxes while waiting for the fun to begin. I feel a swifts Portlandia episode will be coming soon :)

Good News!

Probably wondering why I've been so quiet on here...?? Maybe it's the craziness of back to school, maybe it's the exhaustion of going back full-time after having the summer off and working part-time last year, maybe it's the fact that I also have a precious, but active toddler at home waiting for me after a tiring day with first graders, or maybe it's all of that along with the nauseau I feel every day...wait, what?? Okay, I guess I can "officially" announce some good news on here, now that we just had our first appointment :) - the George clan is expanding once again!! And coincidentally enough, this was also the exact date two years ago that we made a similar announcement on here...deja vu!

After going to the doctor today, we realized our date changed a little. At first they thought April 13, but then after measuring our wee one on the ultrasound, they realized it's more like April 18, 2012. But based on our last experience, we know that date will probably not be the actual birthday!

We are SO excited for this blessing and cannot wait until next spring to meet our new little one. And we're also looking forward to seeing what Tristan thinks of having a new baby sister/brother. We are so happy to be expanding our little family from three to four (or rather six, counting the furry ones, too :)

Here are the pictres we used to tell family & friends our good news :)

Our T Man is 16 months old today...where has the time gone?? He is such a sweetheart and joy to be around. We are so blessed to have him in our lives! Here are some pics of our growing boy:

Happy birthday to our beloved cousin and nephew! It is getting more and more fun to get the cousins together. They are really starting to love playing together!
And please forgive the blurriness of these photos. Still holding out for the iPhone upgrade :)

Seattle getaway weekend

Last weekend, B, T and I along with Trav, Bridg and Lincoln, went up to my parents house for Bridg's birthday. For some reason, we don't usually go up there during the summer months and usually only go up during the fall/winter. I think it's because all of our schedules are super busy during the summer and we usually like to spend Thanksgiving and my mom's bday at their house. Whatever the case is, we now realize what we are missing out on! It was such a beautiful weekend up there and we got to spend most of the time outdoors. Now we know we need to go up there more often in the summer! My dear friend, Falkie, let us borrow her super nice camera to take cousin/family pictures since we haven't done that in a year. Here are some of the great moments we were able to capture!
What a difference a great camera makes! I'm already making an early list for my birthday! (And also note that I didn't post any pics of Brian and I with Tristan. I can use the excuse that I was the photographer and wasn't able to capture any of us, but the real truth is that I didn't like any of the family pics that were taken. Hopefully next time!)
