3rd annual H2C!

We cheered on Brian once again this year as he ran in the Hood to Coast for his third year. I wasn't able to do my volunteer duties as I had to go to a math conference before school started, but was still able to meet Team Storytime at the finish line in Seaside on Saturday. We also got to have dinner in Cannon Beach at the Corrado house with the crew and T got to have his first experience at the beach since he started walking. Overall, it was a great day!

These were seriously the biggest and bluest hydrangeas I have ever seen - beautiful!

Ladies Night

Last weekend, Trac, Lawrence, Lyndsey and I all went out for a much-needed ladies night to a great roof-top restaurant apart of The Nines in downtown Portland. As amazing as this place was, the best decision we made was to leave that classy place and go to a very class-less place (coincidentally, also on a rooftop) where I haven't laughed so hard in years! It was the best place to people watch!! I won't go into much detail except to say that I didn't know people like that existed in Portland! It was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience as I'm pretty sure I will never be returing - mainly because we were really out of place. But it was definitely worth the experience!

Lyndsey, Lawrence, Trac and I still classy at The Nines!
On the rooftop at Departure Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of us at the second place. But believe me, it was too good to be true :)

Summer playdates

T & I got to have many playdates this summer. Here are a few pics that captured our fun moments:
Playdate with new moms and fellow teaching buds, Brianna & Madison and Jenny & Carter

Tristan & Amelia relaxing with their bottles at Ali & Aubrey's house

Funniest video ever!!

Hanging with one of T's best buds, Amelia - love these mini-outdoor lounge chairs!
T and Aubrey's favorite thing to do with one another - have Aubrey dangle something in front of T so that he'll chase her for hours :)

The Bottoms

T and I were the faithful followers of The Bottoms once again this summer at Brian's softball games. I'm pretty sure we made it to every one! Luckily, I knew I didn't have to work out on Wednesdays since all I did for three hours during Brian's double-headers was to chase around a toddler from one end of the park to the other. Gone were the days of spreading out a blanket and cuddling with him as we casually sat as spectators. I think we may have seen dad hit the ball maybe twice all season?! But we did have a lot of fun just running around in the wide, open spaces. Glad we could be there to support The Bottoms once again!
Getting dirty is always apart of our weekly softball experience :)

Water Baby

Tristan is definitely a water baby! Here are some of our summer adventures with water:
Pool Party with buds Amelia and Aubrey for Amelia's 1st birthday
Playdate with Nick & Leah Zervis at water park
At local water park by our house (hmmm...I'm starting to see a theme :)
With Lincoln at yet another water park at Grama's company picnic. What you can't capture in just a photograph is how SUPER excited he is about the water shooting up from the ground. He ran around laughing harder than I have ever heard him!
Scary pic of mom, but here we are at a pool party at Trac's with all my girlfriends and T's friends.
What a fun summer we've had!

Sweet Pickle rides

Yes, believe it or not, the Pickle is up and running for another summer season! We were lucky enough to have it docked at the marina where the Becks just recently moved to. It's been so nice to have it already in the water and not have to load it, take it to the dock, make sure that the car doesn't also go in the river with it and then return it safely out of the water - such a process! Now all we have to do is load up our cooler and drive to the Columbia where the Pickle is sitting proudly amongst mini-yachts and 30+ years newer boats! Here are some of our summer time adventures with the Pickle!
The Pickle's new home
Not too sure what to think of the new life jacket
Captain Tristan
Traci loving her some Pickle!
Sam's 20+ years newer boat showing off
Summer kickoff BBQ at the Becks

Cousins!
The boat cart that doubles as a wheelbarrow ride
Love this pic of Tristan pushing Amelia - her look is priceless!

Bike rides

Here are some pics of our summer bike rides we've gone on this summer (and when I say "we", I mean "Brian"). T Man loves going for rides!
Lincoln insisted that he and Tristan go for a double ride during one of Trav & Brian's bike rides.
Kind of a goofy one of Brian, but I love the look of uncertainty on T's face!

UP Wine Night on the Bluff

Some of our UP friends, Summer and DJ Widmer, have been involved with our alma mater's effort to recruit young(ish) alum to come back and support our school. They have hosted numerous events, from UP basketball Young Alum Nights, to Wine Nights on the Bluff. We have been out of town or busy the last few summers to be able to attend Wine Night, but this time were fortunate enough to be able to go back and reconnect with old UP graduates. There was wine, food and music for us to enjoy that night - it was fun to be back! We also got to see the new and improved Commons. It has definitely changed from when we were undergraduates. They now offer gourmet food, including an array of freshly prepared sushi, a full coffee bar, along with a fireside ambiance to enjoy. Back in the day when we were there, our food choices were very limited, to say the least. I remember choosing between sandwiches or salads on most nights (not wanting to attempt the mystery meat choice), while sitting on a plastic chair at an old, round cafeteria table. They have no idea how lucky they are now!

I loved being able to take Tristan to Wine Night, too!

2nd annual - Dresel's coming to town

Dresel decided she just couldn't get enough of us and came into town for a week long visit! We started the weekend off right by going to the Beer Fest. This was Tristan's second annual visit as he also got to partake in the festivities as a 2 1/2 month old last year :)

Not to worry, the cup was empty. He sure was a big hit, though, for our friends and strangers alike as they snapped pictures of him looking like he was trying to get some of our leftovers. Sorry, bud, 20 more years :)

It was definitely a different experience this year going with a toddler. Trying to corral a one year old in an overcrowded space was a little challenging. Luckily, we found ways to tire him out :)

Photo opp at dinner after the Beer Fest

Looooong story...we had to rent this beast of a stroller after the "poop incident" with our own. Don't worry, I will spare you the details. Luckily, we didn't stick out at all with this one :)
Always a good time with Dresel! I wonder when she's finally going to move up here permanately??
