PDX Bites

I know this doesn't have much to do with our blog, but I've been wanting to start a new one to keep track of all the wonderful eateries in the Portland area. Everytime I go to a new place, I feel like I always forget the name or exact location. Same goes with anytime I hear of a new place. Instead of a completely different blog, I thought I would start this page instead as a way to keep track of all these places I want/have been to. Here goes!  (And feel free to add your own ideas so that I have more places on my wish list!)

Breakfast Faves & Must Haves
Veritable Quandry - downtown - Monte Cristo
Milo's - NE Broadway - Monte Cristo
Mother's - downtown - Corn Flake French Toast
New Season's (I know this sounds funny, but Brian and I recently discovered just how wonderful & affordable this is!!) - egg&meat scramble, potatoes, french toast
Slappy Cakes - SE Belmont - make-your-own pancakes at personal grill on table!  Also comes with a variety of toppings - sooo good!
Meriwether's - NW 26th & Vaughn - EVERYTHING!!! - Their produce is grown from their own farm, they have a great outdoor garden patio and the most scrumptious food.  Enough said.

Honorable Mention
Moreland House (used to be Springwater Grill) - Sellwood - the Hazelnut waffle is pretty scrumptious!
Besaw's - NW 23rd - quaint cafe, although a little small and always busy.  Must get here early for a table.
Cadillac Cafe - close to Milo's - kind of chain-ish, crowded and loud, but if you are looking for a pretty good breakfast, definitely worth checking out.
Beaterville - NoPo - good, greasy dishes - a must go-to after a late night!
Bread and Ink Cafe - NE - I don't remember a specific dish, but I do remember everything as quite good.  And we never had to wait too long for a table.

Need to Try
Genie's - NE 12th & Division
Screen Door - NE Burnside - southern food
Tin Shed - NE Alberta - been for happy hour but heard breakfast is worth checking out!
Pine State Biscuits - NE Alberta & NE Belmont

*UPDATE - I am so excited to have found a blog dedicated to breakfast in Portland!!  A girl after my own heart!  This is something I SO wish I would have done years ago when my Dad and I went to a new breakfast place each weekend.  If you are looking for good breakfast places, or want to try a new one, you must check out this blog! http://portlandbreakfast.blogspot.com/

Gruner - Pearl, European/Alpine cuisine
Screen Door - NE Burnside, Southern food

*We have SO many more, but cannot remember their names (hence, this page). As I previously stated, a few years back, my Dad and I went to breakfast at a different restaurant almost every weekend for over a year. You would think my list would be so much longer thanks to that experience, but alas, I can only remember the names of the ones I most frequent. And pre-Tristan, when Brian and I were "singles", one of our favorite things to do was go on date nights or out with friends to new restaurants.  But do you think we remember any of those places now??  This is why I need to write things down!*
