First word??

Little Man has been saying ramblings of "mama dada baba" for quite some time. He has also been working hard at getting his "g" sound and says it with a lot of meaning whenever the dogs bark. He also goes for his bottle any time we say "baba", so I know he is associating his language with ours. We have also been working hard at completing the words "dad" and "dog" and really emphasizing the ending sound. Well, today, he really said "dad"!!! And said it a couple of times!! Brian told me he's heard him say it already, so not sure if this is the first time or not. At any rate, I guess we can officially say "dad" is his first word! I also think since he's been saying "ba" for awhile and "g" whenever he's referring to the dogs, that those are also his first words! Wow, our Little Man is getting so big!!

*UPDATE - Since I posted this, the next day we had a playdate with Ali & Aubrey and she insisted that he said, "mama" or "mom" when I left the room!! Brian's mom had told me he had said it before as well when I left the room, but since I hadn't heard it, I just thought it was part of his "mama baba dada" ramblings. Also, all this week he has been saying "dad" over and over and over! His favorite part is putting a lot of emphasis on the "d" at the end of the word. He loves hearing himself say it!
